The group will have a field trip to the Judean Desert guided by group member Uri Davidovich. The tour will focus on the area between Nachal Arugot and Nachal Ze'elim in the Judean Desert plateau. We are expected to encounter several phenomenons, unique to that area. The group went on a tour titled: “The Sacred Place: The Role of Memory, Design and Ritual in Establishing Sanctity”, guided by group member Michal Bitton. The tour included 14 stations around the garden of Gethsemane and its surroundings.
The group hosted Prof. Michael McCormik of Harvard University who lectured about Twenty First Century approaches to investigating the history and archaeology of the First Millennium CE.
